Abstract photography and art is
now generally understood to mean art that does not depict objects
in the natural world, but instead uses colour and form in a non-representational
way. Keeping only an allusion of the original natural subject,
such abstract photographs were often claimed to capture something
of the depicted objects' immutable intrinsic qualities rather
than its external appearance.
We feel
that many everyday (and not so everyday) items, even though worth
photographing in their entirety, can be more dramatic and striking
by taking them from a different stand point. To this, we have
taken everyday items and photographed them from a different perspective,
giving them a slightly abstract angle.
It's not just everyday items that
obviously look good. We have also taken a close look though a
lens at nature. What could be a better subject? Along
the many items we have photographed from an abstract point of
view include items found on the coast such as piers, boats, seas,
walkways, paths, pebbles, rocks, water etc. We have also taken
shots of sports equipment, every day items, flowers, plants and
animals - all from a different point of view!
